EM Normandie Business School Oxford enrolled on the OfS register of English higher education institutions
School's life
The Office for Students (OfS), England's public regulator of higher education, has just added EM Normandie Business School UK Ltd to its official register. This recognition attests to the quality of the teaching and support provided and places the school alongside the most prestigious English institutions and the only two French schools already accredited: Université Paris-Dauphine-PSL and ESCP.
This is the first and most important step towards obtaining a student visa sponsor licence from UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI). The process will be completed in the next few months. The licence will enable French students at the Oxford campuses to benefit from an extended visa, work in student jobs, pursue local internships and work in the UK after graduation. It also paves the way for the recruitment of international students.

Oxford campus in the premier league
After a long and rigorous process over several years, the Office for Students (OfS) has just included EM Normandie Business School's English campus on its official register of higher education business schools. This very closed circle to which only 423 institutions belong – and only two French ones: Université Paris-Dauphine-PSL and ESCP – has very strict quality requirements. OfS recognition is well known and highly prized in the Anglo-Saxon educational ecosystem.
EM Normandie Business School can now apply to UKVI for a licence to sponsor visas to its French and international students. In practical terms, this means that students will be able to extend their visas, work up to 20 hours a week and complete their internships locally. Eventually, the school will be able to apply to the degree awarding power in England.
During the registration process, EM Normandie Business School had to demonstrate that it
- offers well-designed training programmes that provide a high-quality academic experience for all students
- supports students from admission to graduation
- ensures that students' results are valued by employers
- complies with student protection legislation
- has the financial resources to provide and deliver the advertised training programmes in line with Anglo-Saxon standards and
- has the management and governance arrangements necessary to deliver the advertised training programmes to Anglo-Saxon standards.
Institutions must also demonstrate that they are taking steps to improve access and outcomes for minority students, whether ethnic, special needs or sexual.
We are very proud to be registered by the OfS, following a long and demanding process in line with Anglo-Saxon standards. This registration is a real asset for EM Normandie Business School and the students we welcome to Oxford, who benefit from the best international education. In the post-Brexit era, it will make it easier for students to apply for visas and will eventually enable EM Normandie UK Ltd to recruit national and international students.
adds Miriam Schmidkonz, EM Normandie's Oxford Campus Director.
