Visual merchandising manager chez Cartier

What course did you follow at EM Normandie?

I took a 5-year course straight after the Baccalaureate. I did my Master 2 in partnership with the IAE in Caen as part of a double degree in marketing.

I did my end-of-studies work placement in Paris and then went straight to Dubai.

I've been living in Dubai for nearly 8 years.

Why did you move to Dubai?

My main reason for coming to Dubai was to improve my English.

For me, Dubai is a city full of professional opportunities where I could find a job and fulfil my potential.

When I arrived here, I started my career at Piaget, where I stayed for 3 years. I then moved internally to Cartier.

What does your current job involve?

I'm currently visual merchandising manager at Cartier for the external boutiques. I look after all the visual aspects of the boutiques, both inside the shop with the product ranges and outside with the window displays.

I work outside the United Arab Emirates in Kuwait, Qatar, various African countries such as Morocco and South Africa, Lebanon, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

My areas of action are extremely varied around the world.

How has the School contributed to your career?

My course at EM Normandie enabled me to acquire new concepts such as economics, marketing, customer approach and sales.

The School has also encouraged me to go international.

It's something I hadn't considered before. I'd rather imagined my professional life in France.

The School really pushed me out of my depth and it's thanks to the School that I've been able to have this very international career.

What were the highlights of your studies?

The most unforgettable moment was meeting my classmates for the first time at the start of the first year. I knew I was going to spend several years with them and forge some great friendships.

The integration weekend gave us the opportunity to get to know each other and have a great time together.

There were people from all over France.

What advice would you give to EM Normandie students?

My advice is to go for it and break down doors!

Don't hesitate, be sure of yourself and don't forget that we've all been in your shoes at one time or another.
